Late & Cancellation Policy
The Ombudsperson commits to being on time and attending each scheduled appointment. The same is expected of visitors. Given the nature of the work, there is a possibility that an emergency or other pressing issue may impact the Ombudsperson’s schedule. If such a situation arises, the Ombudsperson commits to notifying you as soon as possible that there will be a delay or cancellation.
If you are unable to attend an appointment, please log-in to cancel through the booking system as soon as you are able. The Ombudsperson is notified automatically and will use that time to help others. If you cancel with little notice, other visitors that are urgently waiting will not be able to speak with the Ombudsperson during that time and will need to wait unnecessarily. Please be considerate of your fellow visitors.
If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment will be cancelled. Due to the nature of the Ombudsperson’s service, arriving more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time will not allow sufficient time to conduct a meaningful and effective discussion. After a late arrival cancellation, you are invited to follow up with the Ombudsperson over email or re-book. The Ombudsperson will not start a meeting past the 15 minute mark.
If you are late without notice on two or more occasions, the Ombudsperson may rescind your online booking privileges and require you to contact them directly to schedule an appointment.
